My Baby..

5 July, 2007 at 10:15 pm (Music)

Out of boringness I went window shopping with David yesterday. Don’t get me wrong. We are not gay. We went to music shops to hunt for guitars.

We started off at Billy Hyde, City which is just behind the place which I am staying. We wasted about 2 hours there testing all kinds of guitars. Mainly Gretsch and Schecter. Couldn’t find any Ibanez. Anyway, I found the distortion pedal that really suit me. Introducing the Vox Bulldog Distortion! It is an analog pedal with a tube in it which produces crunchy and warm sound. It has 2 channels. 1 for rhythm playing and another 1 for leads. That will be my target pedal right now.

The next stop was Allan’s Music at Rundle Mall. Let me tell you, the staffs there are the friendliest staffs in the world that you can ever get. They greet you with much respect and allow us to try on ANY guitar and ready to answer every questions patiently. The best part I encountered in Allan’s Music was, I found my baby!! Again, introducing the Ibanez RG Prestige series – RG2550EGK. These are the specs of the guitar:

neck type   5pc Wizard Maple/Walnut neck
body   Basswood body
fret   Jumbo frets
bridge   Edge Pro bridge
neck pu   DiMarzio® IBZ-N (H) neck pickup
middle pu   DiMarzio® IBZ-S (S) mid pickup
bridge pu   DiMarzio® IBZ-B (H) bridge pickup

It has the Wizard II neck which offers absolute comfort and speed when playing. I just fell in love with it since the first time I touch it. With a descend price, it offers DiMarzio pickups! It is just an incredible deal. The recommended retail price was $2200 on market. Allan’s always offer a lower price, which is $1899. This is not the best part. The best part was, there was a typo error on the rack which shows the guitar to be $1529 only. I double checked with the staffs and they couldn’t do anything but to sell me that price because I wouldn’t be fair to me if they adjust it back to $1899. I was blown away with the deal. It saves me almost $700 which is approximate RM2100! Praise God. Another prayer came to pass! Such a wonderful miracle.

David too found his love. A Fender Deluxe Ash Stratocaster with a super warm and creamy sound that will melt anybody’s heart. It also offers the feature of combining 2 single coil pickups becoming humbucker pickups with just a push of a button. This baby is priced at $2479. Now he will start saving to make his dream come true. Don’t worry bro, will keep you in prayers and hope that the same miracle happen again. :-)

Well, after that we went to Derringers in Goodwood. Nothing much there so I wouldn’t talk much about that.

After reaching home I waited patiently in front of the computer waiting for my parents to online so that I can tell them this great deal and hopefully they can send me the money to buy that sexy ax. Finally, my dad came online. After the very long descriptions I gave him on MSN, I got a simple ‘OK, I will send you the money tomorrow.’ Again, I was blown away. God is really so good, blessing me with such understanding parents. Thanks mom and dad!

Well, I got too excited and today I asked David to go back to Allan’s again to make sure the guitar is still there. I was so paranoid that other people might grab the awesome deal before me! Thank God I went. The other staff realized the typo on the rack earlier on and change it to $1899!Sometimes efficiency isn’t a good thing for the customer. We are just so troublesome. I was a bit disappointed but I did not give up the hope as the tag hanging on the guitar is still the old tag showing $1529. The same guy that served me yesterday, Tim felt so sorry for me but he couldn’t do anything because to secure the guitar and the price I will have to pay a 20% deposit which will cost me about $306. I didn’t have so much money in my bank! We stood in front of the for about 5 minutes and finally I explained to him that the money is on the way from Malaysia and I can buy it latest on Monday. Perhaps due to my sincerity or perhaps God touched his heart. He finally agreed to keep the guitar behind the counter for me, meaning no one can touch it and the price remains $1529. Thanks Tim! God is really so good, blessing me with such a good guitar and good people around me!

I’m waiting for my baby now. 2 more days and I will be getting it! Can’t wait!

Thanks David for bringing me around also.

Steamboat!

5 July, 2007 at 9:17 pm (Paradise Oxygen)

It is the end of the fasting period in Paradise Community Church and seriously I think I lost at least 5kg. That doesn’t really matter right now cos I gained another 5kg since I came here. Anyway, that is my sad little secret. The best part of the ending of the fast was… Steamboat! Pastor Mike organized a steamboat in church and everyone is to bring a raw dish for it. Due to the over excitement of breaking fast, the food was overflowing. Guess 3 weeks of fast immobilizes people’s ability to estimate food. That was the best steamboat I’ve ever had.

[Too bad Chris and Christine went back to Malaysia]

Before the steamboat

Nice..

Beef Balls

Look at Wing Sun and Gracie!

Everyone’s excited

Girls always get the food first. Not fair!

Curry laksa/ tom yam. This is heaven!

Pastor Mike explaining the concept of steamboat to Pastor John

He still doesn’t get it

Amanda, Brenda and me

Me and Delia

David and Zie cam whoring. =.=”

Posers after steamboat

Aw.. So shweet!!

So there it was. The steamboat for break fasting. Satisfying and homely food made me miss Malaysian mamak food. ‘Til then.. mamak..

Holiday!

5 July, 2007 at 8:19 pm (Random)

Well I think there is enough procrastination after exams. Sitting and rotting in my room everyday doesn’t give me the reason not to blog, does it? Well, holidays have started and my MSN went ku-ku. I have no idea what is wrong with it. Thanks to my saviors – Zie, David and Ben who are generous enough to waste time with me so that my time passes faster and more entertainment.

For the past 8 days I’ve been waiting for my sweetheart to arrive. I can tell you this 8 days were the longest days in my entire life. Its torturing and I hope you guys will not have to go through it. By the way, what am I talking about? What is my girlfriend doing in Adelaide? Well, I haven’t break the news through my blog but I’ve told almost the entire international church about it. She got a scholarship from Sime Darby Berhad to commence her Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) in The University of Adelaide! I’m so proud of you dear! I’m so super excited until this moment since the day she got the scholarship. I even went and bought pillows, quilt and quilt cover for her as I was over excited for her to come over and over bored after the exams. My prayers for her to come was answered. Praise God. Indeed God is good. Wonder why University of Adelaide? Coincidence? No. My darling was so sweet that she applied only to the University of Adelaide so that she can be together with me here in Australia. Many people like Wing Sun, Gracie, Amanda, Christine and others seem to be more excited than me when I first told them that my girlfriend is coming to Adelaide. The joy in their eyes.. =P. I still don’t understand. Guess its a girl thing.

Oh ya, there was this end of financial year sale throughout the month of June and I got quite a lot of cheap and pretty stuffs for just $5. Can you believe it? I will blog about it soon but I will have to write about the steamboat in church after the fasted which ended like 5 weeks ago? Gosh I’m behind time. Better catch up!
